Nelson Freire

Nelson Freire (18 October 1944 — 31 October 2021)[1] was a Brazilian classical pianist. He was thought to be one of the greatest pianist in Brazil.[2] He was born in Boa Esperança, Minas Gerais. He won the Vianna da Motta International Music Competition in 1964.

Freire died at his home in Rio de Janeiro on 31 October 2021 at the age of 77.[3][4]
