Prawit Wongsuwan (Thai: ประวิตร วงษ์สุวรรณ, pronounced [prà.wít wōŋ.sù.wān]; born 11 August 1945) is a Thai politician. He was Minister of Defence from 2008 to 2011 and from 2014 to 2019. He is the deputy chairman of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO).

After the Constitutional Court of Thailand suspended Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha from being prime minister on 24 August 2022, Prawit became acting prime minister until the court makes a ruling on the issue.[1]
