Rosa Canales

Rosa Bolivia Canales Cevallos (1974– 2 May 2020) was an Ecuadorian football referee.[1] She was the first female referee of Ecuadorian football.[2]
Life
[change | change source]In 1998 he debuted, at the age of 19, in professional football assisting in the first and second division of the Ecuadorian football championship. He also refereed in matches of the Copa Libertadores de América,at the 2004 FIFA U-19 Women's World Cup in Thailand and the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup in China.[3]
In 2013, she retired from professional refereeing, and worked as an instructor for referees in the province of Guayas.[4]
In November 2019, she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease. She died on 2 June 2020.[5][6][7]
