Sacaiah Shaw

Sacaiah Shaw (born October 11, 2001) is an American actor. He began his career performing in community and high school theatre productions such as "Ragtime" or Romeo + Juliet. Also gaining experience in college by performing in shows such as Fuenteovejuna, playing "Frondoso" and playing "Kit Marlowe" in Shakespeare in Love. After gaining skills in theatre, he would gain his short film debut appearing in Blind Love(2018) written by Denis Ten. After this, he would go on to be in multiple short films and limited series such as After Laughter (2020) and Birds of Empire (2022-2024)and in 2022 booking the role of Kenny Duncan in Carl Weber's The Family Business [1]

Early Life[change | change source]

Born Sacaiah Stan Shaw, in West Hills, California, he is the son of therapist Dr. Zoe Shaw and Actor Stan Shaw. He is grandson to Eddie Shaw, and distant cousin of the late soul singers Sam Cooke and Tyrone Davis. Sacaiah attended Paraclete Highschool, graduating in 2019, and after that he went on to do theatre arts at California Lutheran University, where he graduated in 2023.

Sacaiah is also a classically trained singer and vocalist, with proficiency in acoustic guitar as well. He grew up singing in the choir for his high school and also became more well rounded when starting in musical theatre.

More than just these, he also was an avid athlete, playing multiple sports throughout high school such as Track and Field, Basketball, Soccer, Football, etc. While he was offered a scholarship to run track at Cal State Northridge, he would end up going to California Lutheran University on a theatre scholarship rather than a sports scholarship. He said, "Why would I go to school and run, when I can go for something I love to do? Something I'm actually passionate about!"

Sacaiah began his on camera acting career in 2018, though he had gotten used to being on stage up until this point, he made the leap from stage to screen with the short film Blind Love, playing a blind street performer in his motion capture debut.

Once that had wrapped he was already gearing up to join the cast of both; a short film called Endangered! and the limited youtube series Metanoia which lasted from 2020 to 2022.

In 2021, Shaw joined the cast of After Laughter and shortly after was also added to the cast of Birds of Empire.

2022 was a big year for Shaw as he was able to book a smaller role in 1992, alongside Tyrese Gibson and the late Ray Liottaas well as also being added to the star studded cast of Carl Weber's The Family Business to portray Kenny Duncan

In 2024, Sacaiah was added to the cast of the new spinoff The Family Business New Orleans to reprise his role from the Original show as Kenny Duncan.
