Shanksville, Pennsylvania is a small borough in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. About 250 people live there. The town is 60 miles from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The area became well-known worldwide when United Airlines Flight 93 crashed into a field during the September 11 attacks. The town was founded in 1798.
