"Star Walkin' (League of Legends Worlds Anthem)" is a song by American rapper Lil Nas X. Lil Nas X made the song as the anthem for the 2022 League of Legends World Championship.[1]
The song was able to make it to #10 on the Mainstream Top 40, #11 on the Rhythmic, #16 on the Adult Top 40, #17 on the Canadian Hot 100,#21 on the Billboard Global 200, #22 on the Dance/Mix Show Airplay, #27 on the Adult Contemporary, and #32 on the Billboard Hot 100.[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]
The song was certified Platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA), Syndicat National de l'Édition Phonographique (SNEP), Association of Hungarian Record Companies (MAHASZ), and Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana (FIMI). [10][11][12][13]
In the song, Lil Nas X raps about his rise in hip hop and how he proved his haters wrong. During a Apple Music 1 interview with Zane Lowe, he spoke about creating the song, saying: “I had the verses forever, and it took, no joke, 30 different, 40 different 50, I don’t know how many different hooks, to get the hook to a place where I’m, ‘Okay, this is something I like. That’s cool.'”[14]
A music video for the song was released. It was an anime-inspired music video. In the video, the players make their way to the League of Legends Championship in San Francisco.[15]
