Susana Martinez (born July 14, 1959[1]) is an American politician and the thirty-first and current Governor of New Mexico. She is the first female governor of New Mexico and the first female Hispanic governor in the United States. Martinez was a Democrat before the mid 1990s, around which time she became a Republican.

Martinez is from El Paso, Texas.[1]
