Hello Feminism and Folklore 2024 participant! Wowie, bringing in two articles during the last two days of the contest. As always, I will begin this preliminary examination by running the text of this article through my readability gizmo: [1] It is giving me nothing younger than eighth grade with an average of tenth. This means that it may be too complex for SEWP.

I will now read the article using my mighty human brain. I agree with the gizmo that it is too complex and could be in much simpler English. The article should say what a myse en abyme is rather than just linking the term. The tense switches between past and present. "Particular," "revel," "vulnerability," "Stygian," a lot of words could be simpler. There's more of this in the lede than in the body.

I'm seeing a few other problems. First, I am on the fence about whether the topic, Cupid and Psyche, concerns either feminism or folklore. It does concern mythology and I guess we shouldn't count that as not-folklore just because it's Western.
