How bad is this?[change source]

Although my French is not perfect, reading the French original I see:

  1. This article is just a bad translation of the French article, uncredited.
  2. The French article makes it clear that de la Varenne made the sauce, whereas this makes out (by an inserted 'he') that Béchamel made it.

How bad is that? Well, I do see the problem lies with the enWP source, but it goes to show what happens when stuff is brought over without working on the prose.

The French article is actually very unclear about who did what, and can be read two different ways... (there is an frwp based template if needed). It says in this article that Varenne made it and Bechamel perfected it, and I believe that's what the French Wikipedia is supposed to be saying (despite it being poorly written and ambiguous). Our article isn't ambiguous (well I don't see how, anyway...). Yottie =talk= 19:43, 25 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
