Fact-check[change source]

Its age is only estimated from its distance. The distance is the primary characteristic, deduced from the red-shift. See En wiki's [1], where proper distance is "where a distant object would be at a specific moment of cosmological time, which can change over time due to the expansion of the universe".
I'm not inclined to change the article because of the discussion on [2] shows that simple summaries of this point are difficult to make technically accurate. Macdonald-ross (talk) 13:56, 14 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
