Extending the Simple English Virology Wikipedia page based on content from the regular English Virology Wikipedia page.[change source]

Hello, I was wondering if it is frowned upon or against the rules to use sources and information from the English version of the Virology wiki and directly convert them to Simple English. The Simple English Virology wiki page could definitely be longer. Please let me know if there is any reading to be done on this topic. Final Right (talk) 02:41, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Final Right Yes, you can do that as long as it's simple enough and there's not so much info that it's hard to read. Lights and freedom (talk) 02:50, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'd add a note of caution. We aim primarily to offer a simplified view to be read by young people and readers whose native language is not English. We do not try to do what English wiki does so well. What would be the point of that? Macdonald-ross (talk) 16:13, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the reply. I came across some prevalent links on your profile's talk page.
One more question: How would expanding an article written in Simple English make it harder to read? Final Right (talk) 00:27, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
