The tench (Tinca tinca) is a species of fish. It is the only species in the genus Tinca. It is also the type species of the subfamily Tincinae.
The fossil species in the genus are Tinca hyprus, Tinca scorpacciata, Tinca parkius, Tinca tigrina, Tinca gigante, and Tinca goliath.
