From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

All articles must be NPOV. NPOV stands for Neutral Point Of View. This means that all articles must be completely unbiased towards one argument or another. NPOV is a common problem in articles about contraversial subjects.

Normally biased statements are not placed in an article intentionally. The editor who writes the article may have a particular point of view on the subject and write things that support only this idea, without even noticing it. This is called systemic bias and it is one of the hardest things to spot in an article.

To check your article, you'll need to look at it one bit at a time. Take a section and look at how it is worded. Does it try to lead the reader into a specific opinion on the subject? Does it show lots of ideas about it, or just one opinion? Take a close look at the wording to catch systemic bias, and try to add other points of view where necessary. If you can't solve an NPOV problem, add {{npov}} to the top of the article.
