Georgy Vladimirovich Yolgin (Russian: Георгий Владимирович Ёлгин, born September 30, 1993, Omsk, Omsk Oblast, Russia) is a Russian cyclist specializing in mountain bike, road[1], cyclocross, silver medalist of the Blagikh Racing Cup (2011), participant of the Youth Spartakiade in Saint Petersburg (2010), participant of three international competitions Cyprus Sunshine Cup 2013.[2]

Multiple winner and prize-winner of regional and city competitions on highway and bike, prize-winner of Siberian Cup stages on bike, prize-winner of Russian Cup stages on cyclocross.[3] Master of Sports in cycling (road, mountain bike, cyclo-cross), candidate master of sports in bench press, has an adult category in swimming.[4]

Born on September 30, 1993 in Omsk, then moved to Tashkent, where at the age of 2 years began to engage in swimming, and by the age of 9 years reached the 3rd adult category, after which he returned to Omsk.[5]
At the age of 12, he independently enrolled in the section of cycling to Pavel Lobanov[6], trained until 2009, then moved to the bike to Dmitry Kalyakin.[7]
He was involved in road cycling at the Avangard OVC. At the age of 16 Georgiy Yolgin was awarded the title of candidate master of sports (KMS). Then, at the age of 19, he was awarded the rank of Master of Sports (MS).[8]

In 2013, he graduated from the Omsk College of Professional Technologies with a degree in physical culture.

From 2015 to 2016 he served in the army: Arsenyev, Far East, in unit # 64845, separate 92nd Special Purpose Brigade of the GRU.

In 2017, graduated from the Siberian State University of Physical Culture and Sports (SibGUFK) in Omsk, specializing in cycling, Department of Cyclic Sports.[9]

In 2018 graduated from the Higher Business School at Omsk State Pedagogical University (Omsk State Pedagogical University) in Omsk, specializing in "organization personnel management".[10]

In 2020, he took advanced training in CAFS techniques at The Gray Institute (Adrian, MI, US).[11] In 2018 he developed his first author's online course on the methodology of training process planning. The course includes 8 theoretical, and 8 practical sessions of 20 minutes each.[11]

Based on his personal experience as a trainer, he described[11], supplemented and structured information about the concept of "functional training" in Russian.[12][13]

  • Three-time winner of the annual 2011 Cycling Fest in road race, slow race and elimination race (2011)[15]
  • Winner of the "Chain Reaction" Open Cycling Club Championship race: covered the course in a record 2 hours 19 minutes and 58 seconds (2013)[16][17]
  • Finisher on track C3 in Sunshine Cup 2013 (2013)[18]
  • Participant of the second stage of the Open Cycling Club Championship "Chain Reaction" in the discipline "cross country marathon" (2014)[19][20]

Since 2012, he has been conducting Saikle workouts, aerobics, step aerobics and Body Pump training sessions.[21] From 2013 to 2015 he worked in the fitness club "ENERGY ZONE" in the city of Omsk, where he learned the following group programs: functional training, Saikle, Hot Iron, Iron cross.

From 2016 to 2018 he worked in the fitness studio LLC "proTrener", where he was trained in the following courses: "Image of a trainer"[22], by Olga Ledeneva; "Training matrices", by Andrey Zhukov; "Top-50 functional exercises", by Anton Feoktistov; "Functional anatomy", by Savosina Lelya; "Working with the shoulder joint", by Evgeny Kadlubinsky; "Kinesiotaping", ROSFIT; "FMT BLADES", ROCK TAPE.[12][23]

In 2014, there was a rumor that Georgiy Yolgin's future wife is Elena Mishkaryova, a silver medalist of the Russian Basketball Championship among Super League clubs.[24] But ORCID's autobiography reports that Georgi was married to Elena Mishkaryova from 2014 to 2016.[25]
