Ms. Doris Eunice Dlakude[change | change source]

Doris Eunice Dlakude is a South African politician. She serves as the Deputy Chief Whip (DCW) of the South African Majority Party ANC (African National Congress) on the provincial list for the province of Mpumalanga, and has held this position for 8 years. Ms. Dlakude has served as the Deputy Chief Whip since June 20th 2013, and became a Member of Parliament (MP) in February 2010.[1]

Ms. Dlakude has served the ANC in numerous structures for the past 18 years. These structures include the Treasurer of the ANC Youth League (Ehlanzeni Region), the ANC Branch Secretary for a period of six terms, and a member of the ANC Regional Executive Committee. [2]

Doris Eunice Dlakude was born and raised in Mpumalanga South Africa. [2] She married Vusi Dlakude who was arrested for perjury on the 9th of January 2018. [3]

Education[change | change source]

Doris matriculated at Mjokwane Senior Secondary School.[2] She graduated from the University of The Witwaterstrand Johannesburg with an Honours Degree in Governance and Leadership.[1] She is currently doing her Masters Degree in Public Policy and Management with the University of London. [1] Ms. Dlakude qualifies in the field of Cost and Management Accounting, Human Resources, and Public Leadership and Governance. [2]

Ms. Doris Eunice Dlakude has served two terms in the Political Executive Committee (PEC) of the ANC women's league and is currently serving a second term in the Political Executive Committee (PEC).

She is also meant to consider requests by Committees to sit beyond the seat of Parliament during sittings of the Assembly or during recess periods. [4]

Key Responsibilities as Deputy Chief Whip (DCW)[change | change source]

As the Deputy Chief Whip, Ms. Dlakude is responsible for allocating weekly duties to other Whips. In the absence of the Chief Whip she is meant to attend to all functions and responsibilities of the Chief Whip. She serves as an alternative to the Chief Whip on all Parliamentary bodies and Committees and assists the Chief Whip at all Parliamentary meetings. [4]
