Cat handler

Hey Orash! Could you please transwiki the newest revisions to en:Template:Category handler to our Template:Cat handler for me? It's protected from editing. Osiris (talk) 18:49, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Osiris. To import it, the page here needs to be under the same title as the ENWP version, which is Template:Category handler. -Orashmatash (talk) 18:56, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh I see. Does moving it beforehand solve that? Osiris (talk) 19:00, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed. Orashmatash (talk) 19:00, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
It should be okay to move as long as you keep the redirect in tact. I can't move it myself though. Osiris (talk) 19:02, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Simply transferring the content to Template:Category handler and redirecting Template:Cat handler to it should be adequate. Orashmatash (talk) 19:03, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, good idea. Will do. Thanks, Osiris (talk) 19:05, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Import done. :) -Orashmatash (talk) 19:06, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Oh... thanks. ;P Osiris (talk) 19:07, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to move the subtemplates accordingly, so can you change the markup? Osiris (talk) 19:10, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Could you expand? I don't really get what you're asking. Thanks! Orashmatash (talk) 19:11, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry. Change instances of cat handler to category handler. Osiris (talk) 19:13, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

┌─────────────────────────────────┘
Done. Let me know if I missed any. -Orashmatash (talk) 19:15, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Perfect! Thank you! Osiris (talk) 19:16, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Any time. :) -Orashmatash (talk) 19:17, 23 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, could you please fully protect Template:Category handler as a high-risk template? And while I've got you, there are two protected userspace pages on Special:DoubleRedirects that have been there for a few days. Osiris (talk) 14:37, 31 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I completely missed your message yesterday! I'll protect the template and sort the double redirects when I get home today if another administrator hasn't already done it. -Orashmatash is travelling (talk) 08:21, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I protected the template and DJSasso sorted the double redirects earlier today. -Orashmatash (talk) 15:58, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted?

What happened to User:Orashmatash/FAQ? Why was it deleted? I was going to add a few more Q&A. I had already added one. Thanks, DJDunsie (talk) 16:47, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted it since nobody seemed to be paying any attention to it. I will restore it if you so wish. -Orashmatash (talk) 17:16, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, please. Sorry about not replying. I wasn't blanking you—I just completely forgot. Forgive me. DJDunsie (talk) 18:40, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No problem at all. Page restored. -Orashmatash (talk) 18:45, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My PGAs

Can you please make a decision on weather or not Selena and Amor Prohibido (song) are at GA level yet? It's been up there for almost a month and I'm here willing to fix any outstanding issues. Thanks, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 22:32, 1 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not really a GA kind of guy but I'll take a look anyway. -Orashmatash (talk) 17:16, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Alright I'll be on if any. Thanks, Jonayo! Selena 4 ever 17:18, 2 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Fix attribution

Hi Orashmatash, can you fix the attribution/import here from en.wiki. That would be appreciated to do so. Kindly regards. --Katarighe (Talk) 19:10, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Katarighe. Would you mind expanding? Would you like me to import the page from ENWP? -Orashmatash (talk) 19:11, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I would like to do so. --Katarighe (Talk) 19:16, 11 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
An import is not needed to give ENWP attribution. You may use {{enwp based|url=link to the revision of the page you took the content from}} on the talk page of the article to attribute the source. -Orashmatash (talk) 14:16, 12 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Flooding

Im likely going to be at this a while.. Flagging me may not be a bad idea. --Creol(talk) 22:44, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done. Remember to log out and then back in to AWB before starting again as the flood does not take effect until then. -Orashmatash (talk) 22:45, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Protection please

Hi, thanks for watching my user talk page. Could you semi-protect it please, and rev-delete the latest batch of revisions and edit-summaries? It's getting a bit annoying. Fut.Perf. 16:33, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Both done. :) -Orashmatash (talk) 16:56, 16 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Star Trek GCSE

I ave added a past paper that proves the GCSE. --Dalek1099st (talk) 15:26, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

No. A Google search quite clearly proves that it does not exist. Please stop adding it back. -Orashmatash (talk) 15:29, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It is a private GCSE that is only available to special schools and they don't add it to the website to avoid loads of requests -Google doesn't tell you every GCSE that exists and the past paper proves its existence.--Dalek1099st (talk) 15:36, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please desist. We rely on reliable, secondary sources; the official GCSE sites all exclude GCSE. Continuing to add it back would be unwise. PeterSymonds (talk) 15:38, 18 February 2012 (UTC)Why is the GCSE paper an unreliable source-its an official paper.--Dalek1099st (talk) 15:54, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalization

If you have time, please take a look at the capitalization in List of field guns. The article title makes me think that there may be a problem with the title of Type 38 75 mm Field Gun.

I ask because you simplified the capitalization for two newly created articles:

  • (Move log); 20:55 . . Orashmatash (talk | changes) moved page Type 99 155 mm Self-propelled Howitzer to Type 99 155 mm self-propelled howitzer ‎(no need for capitals)
  • (Move log); 20:55 . . Orashmatash (talk | changes) moved page Type 75 155 mm Self-propelled Howitzer to Type 75 155 mm self-propelled howitzer ‎(no need for capitals)

I wonder what to do? --Horeki (talk) 01:15, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well I moved those ones because ENWP said that they should not be capitalised, while ENWP says that Type 38 75 mm Field Gun in fact should be capitals. It's quite confusing to be honest. -Orashmatash (talk) 01:17, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Move request

Hi Orashmatash, saw you were online. If you're not too busy (I do notice you're going through the an avalanche of QD requests!), could you do the following move for me?

Osiris (talk) 07:47, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Osiris! Haha, yes, I managed to get online this morning but I didn't even get a chance to delete them all because I had to leave. I have completed the move. Best regards, -Orashmatash (talk) 15:58, 22 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! Osiris (talk) 00:21, 23 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Note

Hey. I'm going to date some maintenance tags and do some general fixes on AWB (about 400 pages). Can you give me the flood flag? Osiris (talk) 02:50, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Meh. Looks like I missed you again. I went ahead and did half of them, shouldn't have caused much of an issue since it was only Horeki and I editing. See you later, Osiris (talk) 04:00, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, sorry! -Orashmatash (talk) 10:56, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The only reason why I moved the page to LMFAO is because you type in the search bar for "LMFAO" and the only result is the group. The user who created the article, along with Wale (rapper) (I moved it to Wale because the dab is unnecessary) just goes along with the English title – sometimes dabs aren't needed, i.e. Wale (rapper) -> Wale. Jerome (Ian Streeter) Just my changes! 15:45, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

My move was also per the English Wikipedia, we generally try to keep the titles the same. -Orashmatash (talk) 15:49, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
But what if there is no need for a dab? Does this mean you have to move Wale back to Wale (rapper) only because it's the same title as the English wikipedia? Because there is no article on simple english wikipedia that talks about en:Wale, so therefore, I can keep Wale (rapper) at Wale. Jerome (Ian Streeter) Just my changes! 15:56, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but if someone wanted to create an article on en:Wale, they would have to move that article to Wale (rapper) anyway; there is no point in having an article with a temporary name. At least if it's disambiguated it can stay at that title. -Orashmatash (talk) 15:57, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
But en:MOS:ALBUM#Naming states that if that is the only topic that exists on Wikipedia, it should not be disambiguated. Jerome (Ian Streeter) Just my changes! 16:27, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
That is for music... -Orashmatash (talk) 16:30, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
But it should apply here, too, because if there is only one topic of the name, it shouldn't be disambiguated. Jerome (Ian Streeter) Just my changes! 16:35, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No, it should not apply here because it is for music. Also, if someone wanted to create an article on the internet slang term LMFAO and LMFAO (group) was there instead, they would have to move it to the title it is in now, and as I said, it does not make sense to give articles temporary titles. -Orashmatash (talk) 16:37, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Conversation done. Is it okay if you help edit and add links to Still Got It? Jerome (Ian Streeter) Just my changes! 16:39, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sure. -Orashmatash (talk) 16:41, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please go to Talk:Drake and respond to my requested move? --Jerome (Ian Streeter) Just my changes! 23:34, 26 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done. -Orashmatash (talk) 16:27, 27 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Also Talk:Born This Way (album), OK? :) Jerome (Ian Streeter) Just my changes! 23:19, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Done. -Orashmatash (talk) 17:50, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Move

Please move Nagoya Grampus Eight to Nagoya Grampus (which is now a redirect page).

This article name change is supported by the first sentence of the official website here. --Horeki (talk) 19:14, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done. -Orashmatash (talk) 19:21, 28 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
