You are flooding RC. Please slow down, or get a crat to give you the bot flag. Thanks, Griffinofwales (talk) 02:20, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind. You stopped half an hour ago. But, next time, request the flag before you start. Griffinofwales (talk) 02:21, 11 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. This problem has never happened before. I'm new to Simple English Wikipedia but an experienced editor at English Wikipedia and nobody has complained about me editing too fast before! (Although I don't often do repeated rapid categorisation as I did yesterday.) It never occurred to me that it might be a problem. As a general rule, what is "too fast"? -- Dr Greg  talk  00:06, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dr. Greg. Flooding RC at en is pretty difficult because there are so many editors making edits. Here, it's a lot easier since there are only around 100 edits a day at Simple. Regards, Javert (talk) 00:11, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
(change conflict) If you are doing a boring task like cats and you know that there a lot of them, you should wait for a crat. Too fast = 5-7+ edits per minute. Since most of our vandalism fighting is done through watching RC, and not through huggle or some other program, edits can slip off the radar. Correction: 400+ edits a day. Thanks, Griffinofwales (talk) 00:12, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Obviously, or so I thought, my number was an estimate given to highlight the fact that, compared to en, there are very few edits here per day. Regards, Javert (talk) 01:00, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Motorways template[change source]

Thanks for this. Can you adjust the template so the normal state is closed rather than open? It's too visually dominating as it is at present. Macdonald-ross (talk) 06:49, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'd prefer the default state to be "autocollapse", as that is usual for these types of templates. Therefore I haven't modified the template, but I've "manually" collapsed it in the very short articles M2 motorway, M3 motorway, M4 motorway, M40 motorway, A1 road (Great Britain) by replacing {{UK motorways}} with {{UK motorways|state=collapsed}}. I've left it uncollapsed in the longer articles. (By the way, not my template, someone else copied it from en:Template:UK motorways. I suspect many of those red links will never get created in Simple English, and so could be removed (or at least commented out) to make the template smaller.) -- Dr Greg  talk  11:24, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, that seems a sound approach. Macdonald-ross (talk) 17:27, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
