December 2023[change source]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to make helpful changes to the encyclopedia. You may not know that Wikipedia has a Manual of Style that should be followed to keep the encyclopedia looking neat and professional. Using different styles in the encyclopedia, as you did to "Karunamaya Goswami", can make it harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about changing this encyclopedia. Thank you. MathXplore (talk) 02:12, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry if I broke any rules. If you need any changes, please tell me. Please don't delete this. Goswamitithi (talk) 02:27, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for changing Wikipedia. We welcome all changes, but we can have only changes that are in simple English, and your new changes to "Karunamaya Goswami" were not simple. Please see Wikipedia:How to write Simple English pages so you can write more simply in the future. Thank you. MathXplore (talk) 02:12, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sorry if I broke any rules. English isn't my first language, and I tried to keep it simple. If you need changes, please tell me. Please don't delete this. I'll write even more simply next time. Goswamitithi (talk) 02:25, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Goswamitithi. We welcome your changes to Wikipedia, but if you are closely associated with some of the people, places or things that you have written about in the article Karunamaya Goswami, you may need to read our advice on conflicts of interest.

All users need to follow Wikipedia's neutral point of view rules for content. People with a close connection to a subject often have a strong opinion about it. This may cause them to change the article in ways that make it either too flattering or too critical. They will most often not be aware they are doing it. Everybody is allowed to write about whatever subjects they want to, but they need to be very careful about making sure their changes are supported by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject you are writing about, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid changing or creating pages related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with. If you do decide to write about these things, be very careful with how you do it.
  • Be careful about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to give information about independent sources in deletion discussions. However, try not to give an opinion about whether an article should be deleted.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Be very careful so that you do not accidentally break Wikipedia's rules.

Please make yourself familiar with Wikipedia's rules and guidelines on content — especially those about neutral point of view, giving sources, and autobiographies. Thank you. MathXplore (talk) 02:13, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I completely understand. I fixed the mistakes and updated the page with the correct information about Karunamaya Goswami, including his life, research, and publications. Despite waiting for several years for others to make the necessary corrections, I took it upon myself to ensure the accuracy of the information. I included only the facts about his life and research with honesty and neutral point of view. Goswamitithi (talk) 02:21, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not use styles that are unusual or hard to understand in articles, as you did to "Karunamaya Goswami". There is a Manual of Style that should be followed. Changes made to articles should not go against it without a good reason. Thank you. MathXplore (talk) 02:36, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your feedback. I'm going through the Manual of Style, making needed changes. I'm committed to following Wikipedia's rules and working hard on the edits. Please avoid deleting the article. Goswamitithi (talk) 02:43, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I may need one to two weeks to make all the changes. I hope you will consider that time. Thanks for understanding and cooperating. Goswamitithi (talk) 02:54, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've simplified the Biography section, which is the longest part of the article. I plan to make similar changes to the remaining sections over the next few days. Goswamitithi (talk) 04:10, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I've gathered accurate information for this article, backed by proper references. Karunamaya Goswami was a highly respected music researcher in Bangladesh and the Indian Subcontinent. Many people search for details about his work and publications. Unfortunately, another Wiki Page on him has incomplete and incorrectly spelled information. I've made a sincere effort to compile accurate details from various sources. Karunamaya Goswami passed away in 2017, and there's no need for promotional content. His name isn't used by any organization for charity or monetary purposes. Please refrain from deleting this page; it's crucial for current and future generations of music students and researchers. Previously, the page was deleted due to insufficient references, but I've included all the references I used. Goswamitithi (talk) 16:30, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
If you believe the page shouldn't be deleted, just add "{{wait}}" below the QD template and provide your explanation on the article's talk page. If the subject is genuinely notable and not promotional, a deleting admin will remove the QD tag. Best, – Cyber.Eyes2005Talk 16:36, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I have added {{Wait}} below the QD template and added my explanation above.
