Administrative regions of France[change source]

Hi, Otourly. Thanks for moving the articles on French regions to their new names. Are you planning to move the related categories as well? I don't know if you've moved categories before, but if you'd like help with that, let me know. I have my account set up so that I can use the Cat-a-lot tool, which makes it much easier to move the category contents after a category is moved/renamed. (Moving a category does not include recategorizing its contents.) Let me know. Thanks again. --Auntof6 (talk) 07:31, 9 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Auntof6: Hello I didn't planned that but I could do it (I also use cat-a-lot-tool on Commons), but unfortunately I can't do it today. Otourly (talk) 07:34, 9 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Also remember that it's not enough to just move the articles. You also need to edit each one so that the text uses the new name(s). Any articles that refer to the old names will also need to be changed. Maybe you could plan this work so that you do one region at a time, and do the whole job for that region. The way it is now, the region articles refer to the old names even though they have the new names. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 07:39, 9 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Another note: When you empty a category by moving it to another name, please either redirect the old category or ask for it to be deleted. You can use the quick deletion option C2 for these. Actually, it might even be better if you move the category instead of creating a new one and loading it; that way we don't lose the edit history, a redirect gets left on the old category, and we aren't left with all the empty categories still in their old categories. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 05:44, 11 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]
