van Maanen 2
van Maanen 2, also called Van Maanen's Star, is a white dwarf star and the closest white dwarf to the Sun that does not have a companion. It is larger than the Earth[1] but is two-thirds the mass of the Sun.[2] It is 14 light years away and is in the constellation Pisces.[3] It was once a star larger and hotter than the Sun (like Sirius) that became a red giant before becoming a white dwarf.
