Wikinews is a free-content news source wiki and a project of the Wikimedia Foundation. The news articles are written by users working together with each other. Old articles are archived, and protected so that people cannot change it anymore, except if an edit request is given.[1] Every article has a talk page where people can talk about the news in the article. The news are then peer reviewed by an administrator to see if the page is ready to be published.[2]

Wikinews is under the license of Creative Commons Attribution 2.5 License, which is different from the license that the other Wikimedia projects are under.
