Switch to wikitext

Would it be possible to add a "switch to wikitext" button in, eg, caption edit mode? Reams of wikitext are overwhelming to many but in small quantities more convenient than the visual editor. GKFX (talk) 14:47, 25 January 2014 (UTC)

Cut and paste using shift-delete and shift-insert

Editing at the beginning of formatted text

Editing at the beginning of formatted text does not work, one need to start between the first and second letter, and then delete the first letter.

For example, if the word "Alice" is a link or is in bold, and want to replace it with "Bob", I need to type "B" like this "ABlice", then delete the "A", then finish the rest of the change. Joc (talk) 20:46, 5 July 2014 (UTC)
