The result of the discussion was Keep per WP:SNOW and the fact he is substing and not transcluding. -Djsasso (talk) 01:40, 16 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

User:Coppertwig/Signature[edit]

This page violates what must not be used in a signature because Coppertwig is transcluding this page to be his signature. Based on the above link, this is a violation of the signature policy. ѕwirlвoy  23:07, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep - There is no need for deletion. Just tell him to stop using it for his sig. A MfD is really not needed for this. SimonKSK 23:14, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. Substitution of templates in signatures is allowed, and looking at his contributions, one may see that he is correctly using substitution. Also, I do not know why you didn't just notify him rather than submitting an MfD. Malinaccier (talk) 23:42, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep - substing is fine, and no, he doesn't need to be told to stop. The one thing that should be done is for the page to be edit/moveprot indef. If he wants to change it he can flag down an admin, but vandalism could be sneaky. //roux   00:48, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep. I'm not transcluding it; I'm substituting it. At Wikipedia:Transclusion#See also it says that substitution is the opposite of transclusion.
:The reason transcluded templates in signatures is a problem for vandalism is that someone can vandalise the template and then the vandalism will be visible on many pages at once, all the pages where that signature appears. That can't happen with my signature. Someone can vandalise my signature page, but the signatures I've already put on pages won't change; and the next time I sign something probably I'll press "preview" so the vandalism probably won't come onto a page even one time.
Thanks, Roux, for wrapping the MfD template in noincludes or I would have had difficulty signing this message! Coppertwig (talk) 01:27, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    I've requested (and received) semi-protection. (Thanks, Malinaccier!)(02:28, 15 February 2009 (UTC))Coppertwig (talk) 02:15, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep: Nothing against our policies/guidelines here. Substitution is allowed as long as it is not used to overcome the 255 character limit. This one is only 153 characters, so nothing wrong here. Chamal talk 08:09, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
    • And that of the nominator is 82 characters longer... 68.248.226.11 (talk) 08:47, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keee especially if the nominator's sig is longer. No apparent rules vilation, hence no reason for deletion. Collect (talk) 13:08, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Keep per no violation of user space — Ched (talk) 18:46, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
