How Do You Know was released on December 17, 2010 in North America. The movie received negative reviews with a 30% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 47 out of 100 from Metacritic. The movie also did poorly at the box office with only $7.6 million made in the United States and Canada, which made it eighth in the box office at its first weekend. It fell off the chart by its third weekend. The movie only grossed a total of $47,707,151 worldwide, which failed to recoup for its $120 million budget and as a result, made the movie a massive box-office bomb.
