Mae West (August 17, 1893 – November 22, 1980) was an American actress and movie star. She is best-remembered for her dirty jokes and comedy movies.

Her name when she was born was Mary Jane West. She was born in Brooklyn, New York City, and died in Hollywood, California. Her mother was a German immigrant.

  • She is one of the famous people who appeared on the cover the Beatles album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. When asked if she wanted to be on the cover she said, "No, I won't be on it. What would I be doing in a lonely hearts club?", then later The Beatles told her what it was and she changed her mind.
