Manuel Fraga Iribarne (born November 23, 1922 at Vilalba) was a Spanish and Galician politician. Fraga was a politician in Spain under Francisco Franco's dictatorial regime and in the democracy after Franco's death. He was the President of Galicia for 15 years until he died. Fraga governed Galicia strictly with a hard hand but he did a lot of good things for Galicia, helping build a strong economy of farming,fishing and towards the end of his presidency tourism.
