No parameters[change source]

Using {{For}} directly does this:

Error: no context parameter provided. Use {{other uses}} for "other uses" hatnotes. (help). Rosedaler (talk) 18:18, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Rosedaler: Can you write the exact code you typed, so I can tell you what's wrong? Lights and freedom (talk) 18:19, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It was just {{For}}. The template docs say: It accepts zero to five parameters. If used without parameters on a page named Foo, the result is "For other uses, see Foo (disambiguation)." Rosedaler (talk) 18:25, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Rosedaler This documentation is now incorrect. According to this diff, the module was changed on enwiki so it doesn't work for zero parameters. The new version was then imported to simplewiki by Djsasso, but the documentation was not changed. It should be updated. Auntof6 may want to weigh in. Please use {{otheruses}} for this purpose. @Lights and freedom: I'm not sure what you want me to weigh in on. If it's updating the doc, I agree it should be updated if needed. -- Auntof6 (talk) 19:01, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Auntof6 Only because you created the doc, in case you had anything to say about it. Lights and freedom (talk) 19:02, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Lights and freedom: I see. Well, since I created it 11 years ago and haven't touched it in 7 years, I don't have any special interest in it now. Carry on as you see fit. :) -- Auntof6 (talk) 21:12, 11 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
