Aligarh district is a district in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The district belongs to Aligarh Division, Uttar Pradesh.

According to the 2011 census Aligarh district has a population of 36,73,849,[1]This gives it a ranking of 76th in India (out of a total of 640).[1]
