Hang Tuah is a movie from 1956. It was made in Singapore and directed by Phani Majumdar. Starring actor P. Ramlee. This film was the first Malay movie to be entirely filmed in Eastman color. It tells the story of the legendary Admiral Hang Tuah from Malacca and his four close friends: Hang Jebat, Hang Kasturi, Hang Lekir, and Hang Lekiu. The movie was released on January 28, 1956, by Shaw Organisation in Singapore. It won the award for 'Best Musical Score' at the 3rd Asian Film Festival in Hong Kong in 1956 and was shown at the 7th Berlin International Film Festival in 1957, where it was nominated for the Golden Bear award.[1]
