An expedition named Lazarus, was sent and passed through the wormhole with NASA explorers and are reporting desirable, results from 3 plants - Miller, Mann and Edmunds are looking positive. Cooper enlists to pilot the 2nd expedition Endurance, which aims to colonize one of the three planets using frozen embryos while on earth the Professor and the facility work to solve an issue for earths mass exodus.

Murph, sadenned refuses to see Cooper despite Coopers promise to come home and leaves a watch to compare there relative time when the 2 reunite. Along side Cooper, 5 crew members come, Amelia Brand the daughter of Proffessor Brand, Romilly and Doyle and 2 robots TARS and CASE, they launch on a 2 year voyager to the wormhole crossing through it.

In the new galaxy, Cooper, Doyle and Brand uses Endurances landers to visit Millers planet but discovers the wreckage of Millers expedition, the planets proximity to Gargantua causes massive tidal waves and severe time dialtion. Unfortunately, during their escape Dolly is killed by a wave, once back on Endurance its revealed there 3 hour stay was 23 years long as a result of time dialation.

Cooper watches as his son, Tom grows up, marry, has his own son and lose him when no longer sending any messages, eventually Cooper finds a message from Murph, now an adult and the same age of Cooper. Murph now works with Professor Brand as a scientist, meanwhile on Endurance it revealed they only have enough fuel for one planet, Cooper and Romily decide to visit Mann's planets despite Brands objections.
