Jennie Kim (Hangul: 제니김, Hanja: 珍妮金, born January 16, 1996), known as Jennie (Hangul: 제니) is a Korean female singer and rapper. She is a member of the Korean girl group, Blackpink, founded and managed by YG Entertainment. At a young age, she went to New Zealand and stayed there for a period of time. She is also known for her single 'SOLO'.

Jennie was born on January 16, 1996 in Cheongdam-dong, Gyeonggi, South Korea.[2] She moved to New Zealand to live at age 8 and attended Waikowhai Elementary School as an exchange student.[3]

In August 2010, she became a trainee of YG Entertainment.

Jennie is fluent in Korean, English and Japanese.
