Jennie Ruby-jane Kim, also known as Jennie Kim (Hangul: 제니 김, Hanja: 珍妮 金, born January 16, 1996), commonly known as Jennie (Hangul: 제니) is a Korean female singer and rapper. She is a member of the Blackpink girl group, founded and managed by YG Entertainment. She grew up in New Zealand.

Jennie was born on January 16, 1996 in Anyang, Gyeonggi, South Korea.[1] She moved to New Zealand to live at age 10 and attended Waikowhai Elementary School as a student exchange.[2]

In August 2010, she became a trainee of YG Entertainment.

Jennie is fluent in Korean, English and Japanese.
