Joyce Fairbairn

Joyce Fairbairn, PC CM (November 6, 1939 – March 29, 2022) was a Canadian Liberal politician. She was a Canadian senator from 1984 to 2013. She was the first woman to be Leader of the Government in the Senate. She was born in Lethbridge, Alberta.

She was named a Member of the Order of Canada in 2015.[1]

In August 2012, Fairbairn was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.[2] She died on March 29, 2022 in Lethbridge at the age of 82.[3]
