Maihar

Maihar is a city in Satna District in Madhya Pradesh in India.

There is a Sharda Devi temple in Maihar and a religious fair every year.[1] The temple was built in 502 c.e. There are many legends about the temple and the city.[2]

The name "Maihar" comes from the words mai meaning "mother" and har meaning "necklace."[2]
