Michelle O'Neill (née Doris; born 10 January 1977) is an Irish politician. Since 2020, she has been the deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland.[1] She has served as vice president of Sinn Féin since 2018 and has been the member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Mid Ulster since 2007.

O'Neill was born in Fermoy, County Cork, in the Republic of Ireland. Her family are Irish republicans from Clonoe, County Tyrone. She has two children with Paddy O'Neill. The couple separated in 2014.
