Miercurea Ciuc (Hungarian: Csíkszereda; German: Szeklerburg) is the capital city of Harghita County, Romania. It is along the river Olt. In 2021, 34,484 people lived in the city. Of this population, 81.65% are ethnic Hungarians, while 17.41% are ethnic Romanians, 0.88% are ethnic Romani, and 0.06% declare other nationalities.
