"Paparazzi" is a song by American pop singer Lady Gaga from her first album, The Fame (2008). It was released May 15, 2009.

The song managed to reach number one in Germany; the top five in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the UK; and the top ten in the US. It became Gaga's fourth consecutive number-one song on Billboard's Pop Songs airplay chart. On February 29, 2016, the Recording Industry Association of America certified "Paparazzi" 4× Platinum for sales and streams equal to four million copies in the United States.[source?]

The music video was directed by Jonas Åkerlund, filmed in April 2009. known for his work with Madonna, Maroon 5, Rolling Stone, and James Blunt.

The music video, unlike the song, is seven minutes and fifty-two seconds long. It begins with a shot of Lady Gaga and her boyfriend (played by Alexander Skarsgård kissing. They then move to a balcony, while the titular paparazzi watches them and takes photos. When Gaga notices this, she struggles to escape from the man's arms and falls off the balcony. The next shot shows Gaga in a wheelchair, with dancers next to her. The singer then sits on a couch, singing and dancing with the dancers. At the end of the video, she kills her lover. The final scene shows Lady Gaga handcuffed and paparazzi photographing her.

The music video premiered on June 4 2009 on Channel 4.

The singer's own review of the video: "It's a very powerful and honest message about fame and what it does to young people. The video shows what people can do to be famous. Most often, these are pornography and murder. These are the most important themes of the video."
