Sanfrecce Hiroshima (サンフレッチェ広島, Sanfuretche Hiroshima) is a Japanese professional football club[2] in Hiroshima.[3] The club is in the Japanese professional soccer league (J league). The club color is purple.

The club was founded in 1938.[3]

    • 1943–46: Football was suspended during the period, due to the Pacific War.
  • 1971–80: Toyo Kogyo Soccer Club (東洋工業サッカー部)

The team has some notable achievements.

In 2006, Hisato Sato set a league record for the fastest goal in a match. In a game against Cerezo Osaka, he scored in just eight seconds after play began.[4]
