Career[change | change source]

Sudeep Ranjan Sarkar is an Indian film writer and director.[4] He made his debut as a director with the short film Neti Neti: Not This, Not This.[5] He wrote and directed the Hindi-drama film Umformung: The Transformation which was released in August 2015.[6][7] Sarkar filmed The Glorious Dead with an iPhone during his visit to the Cannes Film Festival.[8][9] While he was visiting the French Riviera city, an idea came to his mind which was inspired by the many billboards placed outside airports.[1] Most of his films feature actors from Marathi cinema, the reason for which he attributes to the busyness of Bollywood and actors.[10]
