"They wept and lamented," but who's "they"? @Haoreima: Does the story mean that Khamnu and the other women wept and lamented (because she didn't want to marry the guy's son) or does it mean the guy and his son wept and lamented (because the son did want to marry Khamnu, and she changed her mind about hiding from him)? Darkfrog24 The man and his son lamented because parent-less orphan Khamnu fell shy and remain hidden from them. There's no change of mind about the marriage proposal. To be honest, if one is to obedient to his/her parents, he/she should agree to the marriage engagement set by their parents, even against their wish. Khamnu was not specific in her wish. There's no mention that she rejected or readily accepted it. She almost remain neutral but later, she of course got married to the engaged person. --Haoreima (talk) 02:11, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Oh! She hid because she was shy? How do you think the text should show that? An English-speaking reader would think she hid because she was afraid of them or because she wanted to stay with her friends and jsut not get married. Darkfrog24 (talk) 02:58, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Darkfrog24 That's what I was thinking about. :-) Well, shall we add "because she fell shy"? Haoreima (talk) 03:01, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
