Non-existence of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus[change source]

The so-called Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is an illegally established state, as a result of and few years after the Turkish invasion in the Republic of Cyprus in 1974. The only internationally recognized state on the island of Cyprus, is the Republic of Cyprus, which was established in 1960 and it comprises a Greek and a Turkish community (Greek-Cypriots and Turkish-Cypriots), plus small percentages of other origins like Armenians and Latins.

Turkish invaded Cyprus in 1974 and since then it occupies the north part of the island, ~38% of the land. My parents are both refugees from the area of Famagusta and I know first-hand that they were thrown out of their homes and land, threatened with guns.

Of course there are political and strategic reasons for Turkish to desire its presence on the island, but violence can never and should never become legal. The argument was that Turkey went to Cyprus to save Turkish-Cypriots...because there were some setup fights among the two communities. But the truth is that Turkey took advantage of that situation (if not created that situation) to exploit its plans. It's a pity, because the Turkish-Cypriots are also victims of the whole plan. They are now minority in their own country, since Turkey illegally brought many Turkish citizens in Cyprus and gave them the property of Greek-Cypriots.

Also, we should note that Turkish-Cypriots were always treated as equal citizens in the Republic of Cyprus and almost all have official ID cards of the Republic of Cyprus and they get many free benefits from the country, like free access to public health services, etc.

I hope my comment helps in the fair shaping of history.

circumcision[change source]

I got sources about the circumcision of turkish males, who is a important part in the turkish society, but the User @Deppiyy didnt accepted it and deleted it.

How strange is that?

Like so many things, circumcision is rooted in culture; in the case of N. Cyprus: AFAIK, it is an Islamic custom, so i would expect to see it in N. Cyprus. I don't know how common it is in the (mostly Eastern-Orthodox?) republic of cyprus. Eptalon (talk) 23:49, 7 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In greek part not a culture or in religion, they are baptised. Greek Men are generally uncut.

by the way, the same User @Deppiyy called me as Vandalism, when I give this source [1] and this source [2], in the Turkey page under Culture, but the user Deppiyy deleted it allways.
