Wait with deletion[change source]

This page was transferred from a complex English language article this morning. The conversion to simple English will follow still today. I therefore suggest to wait with the deletion decision and remove deletion request when the page is properly edited. Calidumpluviam (talk) 06:59, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Calidumpluviam, I have given you more time to simplify the article. In future, I recommend copying an enwiki page to a page in your userspace, for example User:Calidumpluviam/Woody plant encroachment and simplifying it there, then moving it to article space once you are done simplifying. Please let me know if you need any help. Thanks, --Ferien (talk) 07:13, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Many thanks, well understood. I have now resorted to removing most sections and will add them successively. The article is therefore a stub, but will be completed. Calidumpluviam (talk) 07:38, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, please go ahead and actually do it. Properly, the simplification should have been done before the page was put up on the wiki. Macdonald-ross (talk) 08:04, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I will go ahead and actually do it. Please feel warmly invited to chip in. Calidumpluviam (talk) 13:33, 10 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

What's the point?[change source]

The article seems to suggest that it's a bad thing for grasslands to get smaller, and bushland to get larger. The world climate has changed many times. Why should we promote a view that one is intrinsically better than the other? It's propaganda, and superficial at that. The article should move away from advocacy, and move towards neutral description. Macdonald-ross (talk) 14:17, 21 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Macdonald-ross I don't understand your comment. The article clearly describes that woody encroachment is a natural process, but largely caused by mismanagement and climate change and in many cases a form of land degradation. You seem to suggest that people must simply accept woody encroachment and its consequences. That is like saying we must accept climate change and its consequences and not act to reverse it. Nevertheless, the article does not call for any specific action. It describes woody encroachment and its consequences. Could you elaborate what you mean and how the article can be improved?
