[change source]Why should we link to the en page? I will make a Wikipedia:Shortcut on simple. Jordanhatch 20:11, 11 April 2007 (UTC)
Change settings
[change source]As it is, I think that this template will be more confusing to most people. For example, I've seen a few pages where people forgot to put brackets around a certain shortcut, like {{shortcut|WP:AAA}} instead of {{shortcut|[[WP:AAA]]}}. I simply think that the former is more intuitive, given other templates' similar code. In other words, I believe that the new settings will make it more convenient, like how the template is set up in the normal English Wikipedia version. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 17:55, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
- There is no need to change for the sake of change. Go work on some actual articles. :P -DJSasso (talk) 18:11, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
- I did, working on Pi (mathematical constant) took me all day! </protest in sarcasm> :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 02:26, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
- Although if the template were being set up now, I obviously see how the change would be a much better idea, I think that it's probably not worth it now - that template is used in over 260 different pages, so a bot would need to be setup to update all the templates to work again. And how would it cope with multiple pages? Not just the template itself, but the bot! It is all possible, but probably not worth it, is my opinion.
- Plus, if someone forgets the [[brackets]] it's not too bad: After all, if you click the link you get taken straight back to the page you're on... ;P - tholly --Talk-- 21:44, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
- That's why we should change the template; for those who want to see whether the shortcut works or not, they can simply click on the ones inside the template; and for those providing the shortcut, the format from the enWiki is more intuitive. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 02:26, 27 June 2010 (UTC)
