BitView is a video sharing website that was created by Jan, a German computer programmer who also developed VidLii and the now-defunct Vlare. As of 2023, it resembles the YouTube interface from 2010.[1]

The domain was registered in November 2017, with development starting. Then a few days later, the beta version was released, and was officially released in December 2017.[2] At the time, the site was a HTML5/CSS3 recreation of YouTube version looked in the first half of July 2005. In April 2018, the site was redesigned to be similar to YouTube's version in 2016. In Feburary 2023, BitView was bought by Evie and sks2002, and redesigned to resemble YouTube in late 2009.[2]
