Kasumi Ishikawa (Japanese卡粟米i什科瓦; * born February 23, 1993 in Yamaguchi, (Yamaguchi[1])) is a female table tennis player from Japan. She competed at the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. At the World Cup she won the bronzemedal 2014, 2015 she won silver. Actually she's the best Japanese table tennis player. In the mixed-doubles she won silver together with Maharu Yoshimura at the WTTC in 2015.

2006 Ishikawa began to play international in the adult area. At the World Junior Circuit she won bronze, at the Youth-WTTC she won silver in the mixed-doubles category. Sinece 2007 Kasumi only played for the adults, at the World Championships she reached the Round of the last 32 in the doubles, in the mixed was it the Round of the last 64. In the singles Kasumi wasn't participated. At the Pro Tour she doesn't won a medal. With the winning of the bronzemedal at the Asian Cup Ishikawa began to play a very good career at the adults. At the WTTTC 2008 she won bronze together with the Japanese team, at the Asian Cup Kasumi only reached the 10th place in that year. 2009 she took part in her first Asian Championships, where she only played the mixed-doubles, she reached the Quarterfinal together with Jun Mizutani. At the World Team Cup she won bronze, with reaching of the Quarterfinal at the WTTC, she came to place 66 in the world rankings. She also won the Qatar Open that year.

2010 the team of Japan won bronze at the World Team Cup too, at the Morroco Open she won gold. With the team she won bronze at the WTTTC again. The Pro Tour Grand Finals in Seoul were ending with the reaching of the last 16 in the singles and the Quarterfinal in the doubles. At the Asian Games Ishikawa won bronze in the doubles and mixed. Because of that performances she was in November 2010 on place 30 in the ITTF World ranking system.

2011 she won together with the team silver at the World Team Cup, at the WTTC she reached in all categories, where she played (singles, doubles and mixed) the last 16. With losing at the World Cup against Ding Ning in the Round of 16, she fell back to place 42. In that year she won the Chile and Japan Open.

2012 Kasumi took part in the Asian Championships she won bronze with the team, in the singles Ishikawa won bronze. In that year she was participated to play at the Olympic Games in London, where Kasumi won silver with the team, in the semifinals the Japanese team lost to China[2]. In the singles Ishikawa came to the Semifinal, where she lost to Li Xiaoxia. In a very scarce 3rd place match Kasumi lost to the Singaporean player Feng Tianwei. At the Spain Open she won bronze. She came to place 20 in the world rankings. At the WTTTC she doesn't won silver or bronze with the Japanese team, the players from Japan lost to Germany.

2013 she won once more again bronze with the team, in the singles became one of top eight players in that torunament. At the WTTC she lost in the Quarterfinal against Mu Zi, at the Japan Open she won silver.

2014 she won silver with the team at the WTTTC, that was her best position, at the Pro Tour Grand Finals Kasumi reached the 1st place in the singles and together with Jun Mizutani in the mixed-doubles. At the World Cup she won bronze, after beating Georgina Póta. At the Asian Cup she came under the last 16.

2015 she lost very early to Mu Zi at the WTTC, but she could won some titles at the World Tour. The World Cup for she ends with the winning of the silvermedal[3]. At the Pro Tour Grand Finals she lost to Zhu Yuling in the Quarterfinal.

2016 Kasumi took part in the Olympics for the second time, where she lost in a very strong match against the North Korean player Kim Song-i who won the bronzemedal later. With the team she won bronze, after losing to Germany in the Semifinal. At the WTTTC she won silver too. With the reaching of the Semifinal at the Pro Tour Grand Finals, she was on place 5 in the world rankings.

2017 she won gold in the mixed-doubles, in the singles Ishikawa lost to Ding Ning in the Quarterfinal. At the Grand Finals she reached the Quarterfinal. At the Asian Cup she won bronze.

2018 Kasumi won bronze at the Asian Cup, with the team she won silver at the team WTTTC. In the Semifinal she won her match against Kim Song-i.

In May she was with the 4th place the best Japanese player who reached this position.
