Instructions

These pages are not connected to a Wikidata entry. This can be for any number of reasons, such as the wrong name not being present, the article falling under criteria for WP:QD or WP:RFD. You will have to decide. It is strongly advised to start from the bottom as the newest articles are at the top of the list.

To connect them to the item, go to the en wiki version and on the left side, click on "Wikidata item." Scroll to the bottom of the page where you will see "Wikipedia" with links in it. Click on edit, in the first box type "sim" and then select simple and press the tab button to go to the next box. Start typing the name of the article (just a few letters), the article should pop up. Again, select it with your mouse. Then press enter and it will auto commit the edit for you.

VERY IMPORTANT— Do not worry about items outside the Article namespace. The URL will be similar to https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/article name. If you see anything other than the wiki before the article name, please do not touch it. These may be titled Request for Deletion, User, etc. To make this easy, I have listed all articles below that must be checked.

Possible Actions (in preferred order)

1. Attach to correct Wikidata Q id (do not create one if it is not there. You can search for it - Wikidata homepage

• • There is a great tool to help with this. Follow the instructions at Autosuggest Linking Wikidata - Just be careful and follow the directions to the letter for it to work. When searching, the results come back in about 2-3 seconds.

1. Redirect to the correct article (sometimes a name is another name for something, especially when it comes to animals)
2. If an article is incomplete, feel free to tag it. If it has blank sections, remove those sections, but remember to tag them. One I see (PDL) a lot is a References header with no header, so I removed the section (per WP:MOS) and tagged it as no references. As one of my favorite editors said yesterday, "All SEWP norms apply to these articles."
3. Check against the English Wikipedia English Wikipedia
4. Ask in the discussion below for other thoughts if you are unsure.
5. Request QD or RfD (last option or if blatantly obvious)

A progress bar is impossible for this one, so it must be done manually. As you complete a link (or take other action), strike it out below and add one number to the first number below. 0 would become 1, 1 would become 2, etc. Once a page is done, it will disappear from the list.
