```The Gaboye``` is an appellation of four Somali clans, namely Muse Deria, Hawle, Madhiban{Reer Mohammed} and Reer Da’ude.
Mainly they inhabit big towns in somalia, Somaliland and Ethiopia and Jibouti like:
- Hargeysa/ Burco/ Barbera/ Ceergabo/Sooll=======Somaliland,
- Jijiga/ Babile=====Somali regional state, Ethiopia.
- Bosaso/ Kalcayo====Puntland.
- Hiiran region=====Somalia.
- Jibouti====Jibouti.
The number of their population is unknown.
Certain of them were pastoral society that having 300 to 400 camels plus goat and sheep and they are farmer too, but mainly those living in big cities and towns are industrious society, and professional of certain job skills like metalsmith, haircut, garage, restaurant and shoe repair shops, which in one form or another has been developed by people all over the world at same stage in their evolution.
Because of these skills Somalis sometimes consider them minority groups. They don’t have marriage connection with some of Somali clans.
After theSomali Civil War broke out they have been the most persecuted groups.
They strongly participated, the war of Shimbra Kura led by Ahmed Ibrahim Al-Ghazi against Ethiopian Empire under [Dewit II], lebna Dengel, and historian attributed that ImamAhmed had elite groups using gunfire.
So, the only diligent skilled Somali clans on those days were Gabooye, they were elite for gun repairing and fighting with bows.
