If they are exact copies of an article from en:WP, it is not a copyright violation, as anything that you write is actually not your copyright, you release it as free use under public domain. Razorflame 20:59, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Simple English Wikipedia[change source]

Hi Scorpion0422, welcome to Simple English Wikipedia! Thank you for your changes. If you need help, check out the Help section of Wikipedia, or leave a message on my talk page. Whenever leaving messages on talk pages, please remember to sign your name by typing four 'tildes' (like this: ~~~~); doing this makes your name and the date show up. Also, it helps if you write something in the box that says 'edit summary' whenever you change an article. Below are some useful links to make your time here simpler. Happy editing! Section head[change source]

I reverted your change of the section heading. The discussion has already started, and changing the heading makes earlier discussion seem invalid --Bärliner 21:30, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

copy paste[change source]

Copying and pasting is not encouraged here at all

Obviously the language will not be understandable by our target audience.

When articles are discovered they are usually marked, and if not simplified soon they may be deleted.

If you find any articles in the future and the language is too complex simply mark them as {{complex}}. If they are copied and pasted use {{encopypaste}}. Too many times and the many admins do not give the user the chance to simplify in the article space, the article is simply deleted on sight. --Bärliner 22:02, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Basically what you are seeing is the result of differences of opinions among the community members over copy and paste policy. Many users like myself use the ENWP articles as the basis for our articles here, just eliminating or simplifying complex language and ideas. Others prefer to copy and paste over the text and use that body to do the same thing. The problem occurs when a user does not want to do this one page at a time and instead copies over many pages at once "promising" to come back and simplify them later. Sometimes they just put a complex or cleanup tag on it and call it good. Because we have to assume good faith, the community has decided to give users time to come back (ranging from 1 day to forever depending on the user you ask) and simplify them. Personally, I think it should have to be done at the time of copy/pasting or risk quick deletion. After that the pages fall through the cracks and don't get touched like you've seen today. -  BrownE34  talk  contribs  22:17, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot believe you can just complain against all of my work which I spent a damn time on it. You have some problems or what? --§ Snake311 (T + C) 02:14, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Simpsons[change source]

I have several questions to ask you;

  • What makes you think that my work has violated the copyright code? (For your information, wikipedia has no copyrights when it comes towards articles, excluding fair-use images)
  • Just why did you have to create a major issue here already when it could have been solved in a more civil fashion?
  • Also if this was you, I believe that you have called me a "thief" which is not a civil way to discuss something. So why have you targeted me on plagarism while I was offwiki? (I believe that causing distruptions against one editor should be reported to an admin.)
  • Finally, I have currently no idea who you are and I want to know what exactly caused you get angry and create a fuss? So that I can try to resolve this issue you have started.

--§ Snake311 (T + C) 02:38, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh and not to mention that your actions are borderline towards personal attacks which are not tolerated very easily, even though you have blown your cool and became uncivil when it comes to here. --§ Snake311 (T + C) 02:40, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Excuse me? What I have seen was that even before you created an account here, all you focused on was to simply target me for copyright violations. If you strongly feel that I have violated a copyright code, show me which one it is. Also your replies on my talk pages are, again, borderline personal attacks. I have tried to remain civil with you and not to blow a fuss over it but if it doesn't stop, I'll have to have an admin come into this debate. So chill alright? --§ Snake311 (T + C) 02:49, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry but you are not answering the questions I've asked before. Right now, I'm kindly asking you one more time, why for the questions I've asked above. Right now, it seems that you are simply trying to ignore it by framing me more on copyright violations. What copyright violations?!? Also I have never claimed the articles as my own work. --§ Snake311 (T + C) 02:54, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
"And I still want to know how I framed you." What does that mean? The point is, this debate cannot be resolved unless you give a reasonable explanation to it. The only person who knows why you wanted to frame me is you, because you framed me. I still don't understand what is the point that you have made you to blow your cool. --§ Snake311 (T + C) 02:59, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, what you have shown me was just the two versions between simple and en wiki. What I'm asking you, were does it say in wikimedia policies that my edits are copyright violations. First you stated that it was a violation, now plagirism. That fact is, the articles I've written down are based, not copied from en wiki. Didn't you read the text in the article(s) before thinking? Finally, I'm also getting tired of your behavior because you have been creating excuses to avoid the fact as of why you have made a huge issue that could have been done in a easier, civil, and faster way. --§ Snake311 (T + C) 03:08, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also that response on Gwib's page came after you attacked and targeted me on Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard. At first I have held nothing against you, until I discovered that you have created a debate on that page and pursaded Gwib and other editors that I have violated a copyright code which you still have shown me yet. Diffs on articles don't provide the answer since you have quote-on-quote cited me for such violations. --§ Snake311 (T + C) 03:12, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to ask you one last time, in my most kindest way; can you please tell me what I have violated in any wikimedia policies and why you have decided to act rather harshly by creating disruptions amongst the editors and now to me instead of simply cooling down and discussing about this "problem" with the tensions kept to a minimal. --§ Snake311 (T + C) 03:17, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Apologize?!? You are the one who framed me for no good reason. Your the one who started an uncivil discussion. You also wrote a biased statement on me at several pages and talk pages. You also refused to conduct this disccussion in a reasonable and civil manner and yet you tell me to apologize? Apologize for what, making you feel mad. I have done nothing wrong that would have violated any policy or whatever you have framed me for. You have also dragged me into this crisis for no reason. And you repeatedly said I copied exactly the same article. Don't you ever read the article throughly or think before you act? Right now, you have pushed me to my limits and you nevertheless don't even try to chill out when I have tried to be reasonable with you. --§ Snake311 (T + C) 03:54, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
"admit that you knowingly and purposely copied our work" Our work, where did you get the "our" from? There is no our, there is no yours, there is no mines either. If you are mad because I have stolen your work, it is not your work since you do not own Wikipedia. I do not care what you have written in en wiki, but it is not your property and you do not own whatever you write in wikipedia. So the point is, you got mad at me for no good reason. That does not give you any rights to target me and expose me on something I have not done. Including the fact of accussing me for violating something that you cannot prove yourself, you simply want to attack me because you just felt like it. This form of behavior is not tolerated in any wikipedia, wikibooks, wikiquote, etc., and I feel that you have on purposely insulted me. --§ Snake311 (T + C) 04:06, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Good God, "quit feeling sorry for yourself because you're the one who copied stuff when there are several warnings not to." This wikipedia doesn't have such policies you are probably imagining. "Don't be afraid to start and improve articles! If your changes are not perfect, they can always be fixed by other editors." There is nothing wrong to be bold on editing and writing articles. No one has to be a perfect editor in this wikipedia. You also don't run it alone. Many other people do too and they all can help edit and fix other people's mistakes. Your actions, as I have repeated myself many times to you are causing a disruption and targeting me for no reason. Yet you continued to ignore that. I understand when you said that you had to listen to 20 DVD comments, but it does not give you any right to point the finger at me or claim ownership for your edits. --§ Snake311 (T + C) 04:22, 5 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Warning[change source]

Warning You have started insulting individual editors again over the matter of the Simpsons. This is unacceptable behaviour. It will not be tolerated and can lead to you being blocked

Still making a mess, I see?[change source]

You're still the same petty coward that you always were, wasting all of your time making petty fights on Wikipedia since you know you never could win a fight in real life. One day, you'll look back and see how worthless your life is.--76.208.172.153 (talk) 11:42, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
