Ferien has nominated this page for deletion for the reason: Appears to be a case of WP:BLP1E, also see w:Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Evelyn Kozak (2nd nomination) --Ferien (talk) 14:37, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please discuss this request below, but keep in mind that you shouldn't vote on everything and that there may be options other than "keep" or "delete", such as merging.

Discussion[change source]

  •  Delete per nom. Doesn't really say anything notable that can't be covered in the list of supercentenarians. MrMeAndMrMeLet's talk 14:49, 20 April 2022 (UTC) Voted again below since they are dead and therefore doesn't fall under BLP1E[reply]
  •  Keep At one point: oldest Jewish person ever, oldest living Jew, supercentenarians, multiple new sources. . — Preceding unsigned comment added by Creol (talkcontribs) 19:21, 20 April 2022 (UTC)
    1. Oldest Jewish person ever for a while after their death. 2. Oldest living Jewish person up until that death . 3. Supercentenarian. Seems like I listed more than one thing.. The pogrom info would just be a bonus. Who doesn't love a good ethnic cleansing story? --Creol(talk) 21:58, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
1-3 are all implying the same thing. You can just put "Oldest Jewish person up until their death at 113 years, took yadayada number of years to be succeeded" in the comments section. Everything else is not notable. MrMeAndMrMeLet's talk 15:06, 21 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
From when until the time of her death? As written, she was born the oldest Jewish person.. Who did you replace as oldest? when did that happen? who replaced her as oldest living? who replaced her as oldest ever? when? That's 5 things would need to be added to the comments section. --Creol(talk) 07:01, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
See this link where something similar can be done here. Those five things you mentioned are pretty elementary things. That are easy to mention and isn't that much information. MrMeAndMrMeLet's talk 14:54, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
which isn't done here (no bio section on the page when I looked), and she vanishes when she drops 9 8 places. Of course, since that page has only seen one update in the last year, she could stay there forever. This RfD also sets up the mass deletion of nearly every entry on that page which I am strongly against. It may or may not be the intention, but it would set the precedent opining the door for the deletion of all the rest. Given the "temporary" nature of the list favoring longevity over milestones (straight age over "oldest <whatever>), keeping the article is a much better option. Eventually, with time, most of that list will just fade away. --Creol(talk) 19:36, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to maintain the list of American Supercentenarians, you can do that. Wikipedia, however, has no deadline, even if it is occasionally outdated. The rationale of keeping because an article where it could be held won't be maintained is not valid.
Upon further inspection, however, I realize that this article does not fall under BLP1E as they are dead and not living.  Keep MrMeAndMrMeLet's talk 02:28, 24 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
    Nvm, delete per BIO1E MrMeAndMrMeLet's talk 15:11, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
MrMeAndMrMe, I have struck your keep !vote, you might want to bold your "delete" to make it clearer to the closing admin about which action you think is appropriate. --Ferien (talk) 11:25, 8 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Delete per BIO1E. @Creol, the question is, at least for me, is this person notable other than for being old? I would argue that no, they are not, and as a result do not qualify for their own article. As for the "slippery slope" argument, I feel that supercentenarians should only have articles if they are notable for other reasons. While I don't advocate disappearing people, we write for the future, not for the now. Will Evelyn Kozak be notable 20 years from now? Griff (talk) 04:34, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Keep Very old people are usually a part of lists of oldest Jew and oldest etc, and warrant articles for that. It might not be quite enough to keep an article, but they certainly aren't non-notable. Blissyu2 (talk) 12:31, 3 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That does not mean the article should necessarily be kept. MrMeAndMrMeLet's talk 16:07, 6 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Delete Oldest member of a specific group doesn't seem notable enough for me. If she had actually been the oldest woman in history, sure. She seems to have lived a fascinating life but my thoughts largely echo that of Griffinofwales. Kansan (talk) 02:29, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Keep She is not only "Oldest Jew", but also one of last survivors of 1800s/19th century. 109-years-old Japanese man Kameni Nakamura's page, Orma Slack and 108-years-old Dragoljub Galić's page is actually much not particularly noteworthy than Evelyn Kozak. If Kozak's article should be erased, these articles should be vanished as well.--Ayuta Tonomura (talk) 14:48, 9 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
