The outcome of this request for deletion was to  Keep. Quite the discussion here, but in the end, consensus favoured keeping the content (although not on the user page), and the user in question provided a reasonable explanation for the content on the page. However, if the content is fit for a subpage, it is clearly not controversial enough for the main user page either. WP:UP states Your user page is for anything that is about the Simple Wikipedia project. It is [...] a way of organizing the work that you are doing on the articles in Wikipedia, and also a way of helping other editors to understand you. Other users are asked to be mindful of this and engage in communication with users where user content may in fact fit within policy. Griff (talk) 07:11, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

MathXplore has nominated this page for deletion for the reason: Unexplained large scale user page which may not meet our policies. Griff asked the author to discuss about it but the author refuses to do so, therefore I decided to take this user page to RfD. MathXplore (talk) 16:00, 16 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Please discuss this request below, but keep in mind that you shouldn't vote on everything and that there may be options other than "keep" or "delete", such as merging.

  • Hi. OP here. It's a series of stubs articles I have not yet been able to separate. The only criticism I've gotten is that the page has a confusing layout. That's not "deliberate". I'm de-bookifying a collection of assorted facts. Argue with my math if you think it's wrong. Don't tell me I have a confusing layout because it's in the process of being organized. I will be publishing potential solutions to all remaining M problems. Math essays are certainly within the allowed scope.
I raise over a dozen math topics—nothing is hidden or to deceive.
In-depth material in 5 languages.
Circumcision obviously a testy issues but one 80% of the population is intimately familiar with. That's its own section. As I said I haven't figured out templates, but I'm not trying to "trick" anyone into reading anything. Everything will ultimately be out in bullet points at the top of the page.
Other historical material.
Several mental health stubs.
Art.
Discussions of law generally and several legal issues.
Yes there's a dialogue with my brother, but that's not simple out of scope due to narrative form. Its presented solely with it's relation to physically gathered evidence on the subject. I cannot just post forensic evidence without the context of Who collected it, Whom/where did they collect it from, What is the context of this material, basically. This dialogue also will be moved to my Commons and linked so that reading it is optional.
All reading is optional, but it is a math-centered page. I will be adding math tables too.
Once again, almost this entire page is RED. These are basic subjects that mostly don't have pages.

  • Definitely not eligible for quick deletion, but I don't believe it meets userpage policies and probably should be deleted. I don't think RfDs for userpages are the best idea at all though - RfD is a rather scary and high-viewed area, particularly for newcomers, one of which has been dragged into here. In the future, more time should be given to the user to reply, only a few hours were given here, and now they have replied... If I was in this situation where I've just joined Wikipedia and my userpage had been sent to RfD just because I hadn't responded in a few hours, I probably would have just let the discussion be and then never edited again out of fear. As the warning template clearly points out, these should be discussed on the user talk page. --Ferien (talk) 19:32, 17 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Move to a personal sandbox, which would be a better suited place and will reduce any confusion. --*Fehufangą✉ Talk page00:25, 18 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Delete. Editors can not put anything they want onto their userpages. This one is obviously not a appropriate contribution, and should be deleted. Macdonald-ross (talk) 06:26, 20 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Later: I see that moving to a user sub-page could be an alternative solution. Macdonald-ross (talk) 08:01, 21 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
